As we saw on the cover of People magazine, Kate Gosselin just got hair extensions.  Good for her!  I thought Kate was attractive before, but her hair looked absolutely beautiful, and made her look much younger and vibrant.  It’s hard to believe she is a Mom with eight kids.  Now that she is a single woman again, and no longer dealing with Jonny-boy, why not make herself look younger and more attractive?  She needed to try something to keep up with the social calendar of her ex.  In this generation, hair extensions are becoming the modern day “fountain of youth”.  Everyone is looking for that quick fix, and natural hair extensions can provide that instant boost to your look, style and confidence.

After I read the People magazine article and was impressed with her human hair extensions, my floor hit the ground when I saw the price she paid for the hair extensions…not to mention the time it took to install the extensions.  Seven thousand dollars and twenty hours of work!  This sounds like a scripted “you have got to be kidding me” that Jon and Kate always seem to embrace.  As a stylist for over 12 years, this was clearly a Hollywood over-the-top installation and pricetag.  The real price for hair installations is a fraction of that, and typically takes 2-3 hours to install.  So, don’t fret ladies, hair extensions are very affordable and you won’t have to pull an all-niter to have them installed. In terms of hair extensions, I do tell all of my customers that the best hair to get is human hair extensions (natural hair extensions).  Don’t mess with synthetic hair.  The best hair in the market is known as Remy hair extensions (aka, Remi hair or Cuticle hair).  There are a number of hair extension companies that offer various quality and pricing.  I have most recently been happy with hair extensions from a company called Brijon.  They have been around a few years but I have found their hair quality to be incredible consistent and reasonable.

Anyhow, Kate, I hope your new hair extensions make you as happy as they have made my customers.  With your new look, I am sure you will find yourself with a lot of new suitors, but do me one favor…don’t settle too quickly and end up with just another Jon.
