Kate Middleton's wedding day hairstyle looked effortless, but it was anything but with hairstylist Richard Ward revealing to The Sunday Times that his team practiced the style with a $10 tiara from Claire's Accessories - a Diva-like chain known for its affordable array of trend-inspired jewellery. Richard said that the plastic tiara - a far cry from the Halo Cartier one that Kate would wear on the big day - was used to practice on a personal assistant day after day to ensure the style was correct when Richard and Kate's regular stylist, James Pryce, would create the style for real. Talking of securing the tiara and keeping it there, James says:
"We came up with a unique concept for securing it. We backcombed the top to create a foundation for the tiara to sit around, then did a tiny plait in the middle and sewed it on. I've never seen anything like it in my life."
Getting practice in ahead of the big day is a great idea so try Early Learning Centre's Princess Tiara ($10) if you're planning on wearing a headpiece on your wedding day.
