In case you haven't noticed, hair extensions continue to stay "hot" in the fashion world. From A-list Hollywooders to Kate Gosselin's new hair extensions to the average housemom or colleague at work, hair extensions are everywhere and they are here to stay. So, why all the fuss? Well, there are a lot of reasons. First off, unlike trends in the clothing industry that come and go, having longer, thicker hair rarely goes out of style. Although the styles may change to a certain extent, it is typically the more the better. It ranges from girls that want to have more hair for their prom to middle aged women who are looking for a new look. Hair extensions cross the gamut in terms of ages. Second, they can provide a temporary change to your look or for special occasions...they are not a permanent change. Third, they can improve your look, confidence and overall happiness. Recently, a survey of 250 men (ages 18 - 55) was conducted in Los Angeles, California regarding their preference in women's fashion. The survey indicated that 83% of men (208 out of 250) prefer women with longer, fuller hair. Eighty three percent! No wonder why hair extensions are so popular. Among the reasons given by surveyors as to why longer and thicker hair is preferable included "younger appearance", "greater vitality", "sexier". One respondent stated that "My wife and I have been married for over 11 years, and our sex life became almost non-existent. She decided to get human hair extensions and honestly, I was hesitant at first. But WOW! Her hair is absolutely beautiful and it has re-energized our sex life." Now it starts to make sense why hair extensions have become so popular for so many people.
The next question is where to get hair extensions? Well, there are a lot of hair distributors and brands out there, but the most important thing is finding 100% human hair extensions. Human hair is much better than synthetic hair which only lasts a short period of time. The best hair in the industry is known as Remy hair extensions (also known as Remi hair, virgin hair or cuticle hair as the hair has not been processed). This is the most natural hair (and most healthy hair) and therefore provides a very natural look. This hair can be treated just like your own hair.
