LIFEwithBIRD was the first to kick things off with their pre-Fashion Week preview of its Spring/Summer 2011/12 collection. Backstage we were told that the makeup was meant to look as if the girls had "pressed a hot towel into their face" this morning. It was all about dewy, sculpted skin with no mascara or brow definition. A pop of pastel pink on the lips and lilac nails and toes finished the look. The hair was soft and innocent like the silhouette of the clothes, but still had a "strong, modern edge" according to Redken hair director Jon Pulitano. Unlike the creamy makeup palette, the finish of the hair was soft, powdery and a little bit dishevelled.
