While it was the first time in 14 years without John Galliano in the driver's seat, Bill Gaytten continued in the tradition of bold, bright colours at the Christian Dior Haute Couture Fashion A/W 2011 show in Paris. Created by Orlando Pita, afros with an injection of height, and voluminous and 60s-style waves dominated the runway, as did an interesting take on a fringe, with strands stuck in a snake-like fashion across the model's foreheads. Pat McGrath and Tyen were on makeup duty, providing an array of different looks, covering the eyebrows with block neon shades in aqua-green and pink, and oversized sequins with lots and lots of glitter. Metallic blue, green and bronze shadows plus wing-tipped false eyelashes adorned eyelids, while lips were painted in bright, glossy reds, deep plums, matte coral shades and nudes.
