British socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson admits to finally having "a healthy self-esteem," despite saying she's still too scared to look in the mirror, fearing her new nose - which she had rebuilt using cartilage from her rib - will collapse like her first attempt did. She tells SHE magazine:
"I can't tell you how wonderful I feel - like a different person. Before, I didn't want to go out, I didn't want to date. And now I want to go out, I want to date again. I feel 10 years younger. Someone said to me, 'You must look in the mirror', but I never do because I'm too scared that my lovely new nose will have gone away again."
The 39-year-old's septum was severely damaged due to Tara's crippling drug habit and she talks of feeling like the Hunchback of Notre Dame when the original attempt to correct her nose back in '06 failed due to her not committing to her full after-care schedule. After years when her "confidence was wrecked," it's nice to finally see Tara feeling happy and confident in herself.
